Professor dr. Arno Nuijten CIA is both a practitioner and a researcher in the domain of internal auditing in general and in risk behavior specifically. He is affiliated with the Erasmus School of Accounting and Assurance in The Netherlands as well as the University of Pretoria in South Africa, both IIA-accredited Centers for Internal Audit Excellence.

For over a decade, Arno has been a member of the organizing committee of the annual European Academic Conference on Internal Audit and Corporate Governance. In 2012, Arno received an ECIIA- research award for his PhD-research of why senior managers sometimes turn a deaf ear to risk warnings provided by internal auditors. He supervised several Internal Audit PhD- students on this and related topics regarding internal audit effectiveness.
