Dr. László Windisch, lawyer, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary and member of the Fiscal Council of Hungary from 6 July 2022. After obtaining his degree in law he has performed management duties at the National Tax and Customs Administration from 2002 and subsequently he led the Department of Tax and Customs Administration of the Ministry for National Economy from January 2011.
From 2013, for six years he performed the duties of the Deputy Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (the Central Bank of Hungary) responsible for the financial supervision and consumer protection, also he was member of the Monetary Council as well as the Financial Stability Council. As Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, he had a prominent role in renewing the systems of control instruments, and in the development and introduction of a risk- and data-based supervision methodology that utilizes the opportunities provided by digitalization.
From 2021, he was the Deputy President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. The Hungarian National Assembly appointed him as the President of the State Audit Office of Hungary on 4 July 2022. In recognition of his professional activities, the President of Hungary awarded him the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit civil division state award in 2020.
